This kind of had me doing this
since my last trip to the track. I run weld Pro stars when I go w/ the longer lug nuts on the stock wheel studs. Ive been running this set up since last Oct and been to the track 3-4 times this year and this is the first time anything was said.
This guy, or should say kid has done the tech inspection on my car before and said nothing then. When checking out my wheels what I think he was trying to explain to me was that not enough of my wheel stud was threaded through the lug nut. I tried to tell him that the same amount of thread is being used as w/ the stock lug nuts but its just a longer lug so not as much thread will be used. It uses about half of the threads on the longer lug nuts. He told me it was something I needed to fix before my next time at the track but it was ok for this time.
Is there anything messed up about this or is there some tech rule saying that X amount of the lug nut thread must be on the stud?
