Hi
Thursday the 8th Tom (my son) and I are getting our sn95 verts., tuned at Cincy Speed. We both have ford small blocks.. dart blocks with Vortech blowers.

I have a 347 that made 520rwhp on the last block that blew. using pump gas tuned down ??

Tom has a 331 that made 570rwhp with a gas additive, Tom is getting a pump gas tune.

I now have 8.5 compression ratio had 9.1 or so, with 42# injectors.
Tom has a 9.0 compression i think with 60 # injectors

He has more compression and I have a few more cubes!!

Do I have a chance.. ??

I think the potential is their for your sons car rather than yours. He has the more fuel so he can turn the boost up but his hinderance is the compression. You will make more torque because of the bigger cubes i would think. either way I think it's going to be close. I would look into 60s for your car.

Yes..... fuel is what I am worried about..... injectors and fuel lines.

the only thing i see on your side is your lower compression, you could up your boost a little bit more, but you are going to need more fuel just like pk suggested

Hi
First what a great group down at Cincy Speed!! Customer service extraordinaire..

Well... as you have guessed I lost and not by a little either.

I had 507 RWHp and 500 tq. I wasn't tuned at all, Adam did a base run and when checked it was perfect. Adam said I might eek a tiny bit more out of it but not worth the time... That is what I like an honest guy, that tells it like it is!
Thought I would make more but not to be.

Tom on the other hand made 575 RWHP and 563 tq. I was a little disappointed, to say the least. Thought he could have made it a closer race but not to be.

Needless to say I will explore other options for horsepower... Perhaps a meth kit, bigger injectors or something. Might be a while though... I will enjoy the safe tune and DRIVE THE CAR....

Again Craig and people are a great bunch to work with and and they have a couple more satisfied customers.

just got back a few minutes ago... I'll publish my sheet shortly and get hold of Toms too!!

Steve

i'm surprised you made less than the previous block. Did you change anything else other than the compression? your torque just drops off at 5k rpm instead of slowly going down. You really just need to get more fuel into the car and up the boost and you'll whoop him.

Actually the cam may be in a slightly different place. it is straight up... I think it was a couple degrees retarded last time,,, Steeda 19.
I believe Toms is straight up also, so i don't think that is a problem??

if you still have the cobra intake on , I would bet you gain 15 to 20 more hp in the upper rpm range with one of the better intakes like the holly or trick flow.

Part II Marrch 2011

Part II
Put a Snow kit, 2.85 pulley, 60# injectors and fuel rail on.... Hoping that will finish Tom off, could be close. He is married with 2 kids so I think he is done modifying for a while.
HP guess anyone,,,, maybe 5-6 more pounds of boost?? Tune coming in the next week or so!! Snow mostly for safety maybe a little power there.

Edit
Made an appointment for Monday the 14 @ Cincy Speed for the dyno..... now to finish the car !!
