E5's?

Unless you run a class that requires you to use the E5 heads, I certainly wouldn`t! They have 69cc combustion chambers, so very low compression (my 85 Mustang is only 8.4.1 comp. with these heads, with factory flat top pistons). They also have a much bigger exh. port bump than the later heads. In fact, they only differance between the D8 302 2barrel head used on the 139-145 HP Fairmont & Mustang engines was a minor change to allow the new-for 85 hyd. roller lifters to be removeable without removing the heads. The 69-70 351W heads are good, as they have a bit bigger valve size, & smaller CC`s.

Ok "Junkyard" is definately a term that is frequently used in my vocabulary alot. Now you mentioned that E7s and the gt40p's were better then all sbf heads...I thought that windsors that came in cars had bigger ports and valves? Just asking because its nice to be sure before I go spend $33 for a pair of heads at the junkers:P

351W heads

This is the year 2004 !! the only 351W heads that were performance was the 69-71 heads... ( C90E -D0OE) then they went to the 302 ports and just kept the larger valves... but the early heads have larger Combustion chambers, and Need hard seats for the unleaded fuel and probably valve giudes... and that is all Money!! and only if you can find those years!! The later 351W heads ARE 302/5.0 heads with the smaller valve, just bigger head bolt holes!! That is why the E7s , GT40, and the GT40Ps are the last version and the best of the small block heads...cool?? so hit the "yards" !! and IF you can get a set of heads for 33.00 a set!! your rocking!!
