Ebay intake....no instructions, what's this

I've heard the same about turbulent air when having a turn just before the MAF, but honestly, I have not experienced any issue with this setup. It seems to be a good theory, but...?
I'd like to log the IAT with and without this setup - I'm sure the air is much cooler.

Who said heads are "a waste of $$"? I said "how could you spend good money on heads and cams".
Nonetheless, you heads issue being a different topic, to get the filter out of the engine bay, you could simply (and I'm not joking here), buy a section of 4" dryer flexible aluminum vent tube, a couple of clamps and a coupler (for where the tubing meets the filter for something solid to clamp the two together on) and make your own cold air setup. All for less than $20 from any hardware store. Route the tube thru the opening in the inner fender down onto the bumper apron. Two things though - avoid flooded streets at all costs...and 2, clean the filter more reguliarily as it will pickup more dirt.
(We are all cheap from time to time :D )

thats not a bad setup..

The straight is not the problem. Actually straight CAI's are the best thing for a Blown or Turbo car because you don't have a bend before the MAF which causes a huge PITA to tune and can really throw your tune for a loop. It you can fab up a sheet metal cover to go around the filter in the engine bay, it will help the dust problem. Any CAI is pretty much useless for power anyways so do the one you want for looks or fits your budget.
