Found these on ebay. 17 X 8 fronts and 17 X 9 rears. they claim to be direct fit on 64 - 73 mustangs. Anybody used the before? You think there will be any fender clearance issues? WHat size tires would work best?
BTW these would be going in a '73.

They also come in 17 X 7.

They look like Chinese knock-offs of Torq-Thrust 2's, so they will fit 17x8's with 4.5 BS is fine and it has the correct bolt pattern. Although I believe for the fronts you may want the 17x7s, but plenty of more people will chime in for sure.

They are probably 1 piece (instead of 2 piece like real TT2's) and are probably noticeably heavier. But they are a great price.

I put these exact rims (17x8 front and 17x9 rear) on my 70 sportsroof, but with the gray color. I went with 245/45's on the front and 275/40's on the rear. I initially had a rubbing problem, but that was attributed primarily to the old (read original-minus shocks), sagging suspension. New leafs in the rear fixed that problem and i am currently putting coil-overs on in the front. I am not anticipating a problem there either. Once i get to do some hard driving and see how the end result performs, i am considering rolling the fenders to provide a little more clearance. i can post some pics if you want.

Sounds great, id love to see them.

As for wheel and tire options i found a few links that i beleive will be helpful to all those looking to put aftermarket rims on classics. Ill be putting up a new thread for those.

i'll post some more pics here in a minute. Overall, I was very impressed with these rims. The finish was smooth and without any flaws in the coating. I am unsure of the weight of these, but they are probably a bit on the heavy side... but i guess that can be expected for the price. I have driven with these rims on now for about 7 months and do not have any rusting or pitting anywhere on these.

Nice Ride Cavboy 78. I was looking at the same vendor on Ebay for rims for my
69. Did you buy the rims and tires as a set from them?

Thanks for the pics

we bought a set of 15x7 and 15x8 from them instead of the larger rim size,. Finish is excellent, and they are a one piece wheel. the only slight problem we had was a standard deep 13/16 socket was a little tight, simply simply ground the socket down about .025" and everything went well. We will be posting some photos soon on the progress including the wheels. the company is in Souther California and we were able to pick them up.

Ha! I went 9" with 255 45 r17's in the front and 10.5 with 285 40 R17's in the rear of my '71. Ok. There was some massaging for the fronts...

Hey Cavboy 78. Had another question with the rims. Where did they rub at in the rear? I
bought a set of 1 inch lowering leafsprings and Im wondering if I might have some problems
with rubbing with the same rim and tire combination.

Thanks for the help
