I did a search, but i couldn't get it answered. Im gonna be doing the gaskets on the headers and this would be a great time to remove the egr crap. But i got a couple of questions. Will i pass inspection?? I can remove it of the EEC with the tuner. Im doing this cuz it gets in the way really bad when doing the header gaskets, and to clean up the engine bay. I also read that i would get pinging. How true is that?

How much crap is there to remove? This also includes the smog pump right???

You can turn it off with the tweecer but honestly unless its broken there is no real need to remove it.

You will most likely pass smog still, but you will prob. loose mpg in fuel.

It shuts off at WOT so its no issue at WOT.

If you want to clean the engine bay up and ditch the egr I would look into a fox intake and t-body swap first before totaly doing away with the egr. With our anteater intake the only thing that cleans up that part of the bay is the fox swap.

As long as you turn off the EGR tables and stuff with the tweecer you should not run into any ping issues from it being gone...unless you run higher timing or something your combo does not like but that could happen with the EGR still hooked up.

i put fox headers on my car recently and eliminated my egr with the 351c fuel pump plate.

the check engine light is on and i have not noted any driveability issues thus far.

my reason for eliminating egr was to run some badass plug wire looms that would not clear the pipe.

may be coincidence or not, but my car feels 10x more responsive since doing that. only mod was mac 94/95 headers to bbk fox headers.
