My engine is gone...I'm in the market for a new shortblock.
Now i'm trying to find out what the best shortblock is,,, for a near stock, a little stronger shortblock replacement.
I've been looking at X2C V1.0, VT GT "SR", or the DSS MODular blocks.
Dss seems to be the lowest priced, but i'm trying to get some opinions from people that might have gotten one already.

Let me know what you guys think. Thanx

DSS = horrible oil leak
VT = overpriced (slightly)

I'm going with Modular Powerhouse shortblock. I've heard nothing but good things about them and ive seen some of the results......like that turbo bullit

So DSS is no good?
VT "SR" says that there is "NO oilpump/pickup or rear seal plate." can it be transfered over from my stock engine? is it a pain in the @ss to do?

Noone has any opinions avout X2C?

or you could get a new cobra short block for 2500

this will be a lot lighter than the GT block and give you a nice bump in compression.

You might PM Bryan at TSS racing for a quote on a shortblock. He does great work and his customer service is second to none. The pricing is very reasonable. I believe his SN is TSSRacing...

The whole story basically was this...
I've had a ticking head for the past 2 weeks, i got it checked out at ford, they didnt know what to say, they told me to drive it till it became a problem, well two weeks ago it became a problem.
Friday night i got on the throttle about 1/2 way, i heard a LOUD BAM and then the engine emitted a constand ticking LOUD ticking... we thought the intake cracked, the intake was fine, then we pulled the plugs, and one of the plugs blew out... was bouncing around in there.... it stripped two top threads.
The head was rethreaded, new plug threaded in, and the knocking continued... Now it sound like a very loud metal to metal knock... louder then valves...
So thats the storry

Unfortunatelly not.. the paper i got back from them only said that its a possibility of an exhaust manifold leak... thats all... then i came back the next day with a printout of a TSB...

http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?p=4772234#post4772234

You can read the TSB there, and exactly what they told me at the time...
(keep in mind that my warranty is LONG gone... my car has 61000 miles)
