So..... I think you should get it, and download all the porting techniques from @tmoss website, and port them bad boys like you own it. With your skills, I think you could do some good work. And if you don't feel like taking on that big of a task, you could just polish the castings and still get better results with the TF R-Series your looking at. TF has such a good reputation for making bigger horsepower right out of the box(design) than anyone else on the market that if you can afford it, you can't go wrong. Not to mention they are built to last with good materials.

But then, it also depends on what your end goals are for the car too. But with a stock block, these intakes are the best money can buy unless you have TMOSS port something for you, then it doesn't really matter from what I hear ;-) If you decide to upgrade your engine later to a 351 or Dart block, I believe that intake will fit those engines as well.

PS: Did you see the difference of operating range?

R series = 2500-7250 rpm
Box series = 3000-8000 rpm

With the right CAM you would get a better range for a street rod with the Rseries your looking at ;-) Sounds like the right choice to me.

Your throttle body's are at 75mm and lower so this is the good range intake for now.
 
Yes the gt40s have been heavily modified...... heavily.
2.02 1.6 valves with bowls fully ported and blended, the intake gasket was matched to a 1262 felpro.You can put a 1.6 valve into the bowl from the port.7/16 studs and guide plates. Full roller rockers. For what they have done to them I would have a set of TW heads...........
I did all the major work, then shipped them off to a cousin who does machine work. He fine tuned them on a flow bench, numbers were in the 22* average flow range. But to be honest I don't know what he tested them at " wise I know that will skew the #. If they really do flow in the 220 cfm range I would be very surprised.

I'd go with a Holley sm2 or eddy rpm2 over the long runner tfsr, the uppers work a little better (the box would beat any of em, but packaging is tough). BUT, even with a fully ported set of GT40's (especially with that cam and those flow numbers) any of those three would be overkill.

This motor also gets 8psi from 1200 rpm up.
This new intake thing is mostly due to the car hitting a wall at 5300rpm or so even though I'm still in boost.

I'd blame that baby ecam (or even maybe springs, don't know which you have but even the common tfs springs are a bit weak) more for huge falloff like that, not that the cobra intake doesn't contribute to it, but I just think it'll be even more noticeable with the bigger intake if the cam is the limiting factor.
 
Before the blower I could spin this thing up to 6500rpm. The springs are comp 130# closed 260# open. Or something like that the machine shop put them in, they have all of 200 miles on them.
1.72 rockers were on the all motor version now I run 1.6 with the blower. Either way the car makes gobs of power I am just looking for more rpm so I don't have to shift right before the line on the 1/8.

I was looking for a reason to replace the intake. Lol. I ported to the gasket to low and there is a small step up on the bottom of the port as it enters the head, maybe a thicker gasket would help. I may pull the lower and open the runners up more that may help. If I get real frogie I may build a box type upper, not sure on that from what I have read a box upper will forfeit tons of torque in the low to midrange.

With boost you're adding even more pressure on the springs. This alone can limit higher rpms and valve instability. The E cam is more than capable of more than 5300rpms. It's the heads/intake that are limiting you. I second the choice of the Eddy rpmII or Holley intakes. Also you would probably see significant performance improvements with a better alum head/and cam but understand running what you got. Just adding my .02
 
I am currently working on a different way to mount the extra idler arm and some extra pulley. The problem I'm having is the bracket that originally made for the supercharger has a lot of deflection. The aftermarket March accessory brackets are making it difficult they take up all of the usable mounting locations. Really my only decent option is to start over from scratch or at least very close to it while the system works the way it is now it is very ugly I proved that it can work but now I want it to look half too
