Build Thread Enola- Finishing touches

Ah, I see where you're making your error Mike, I would never try seat covers or other absorbent parts in the dishwasher.

The dishwasher is mainly for hard plastics, carburetor bodies, battery trays and the such.

Sorry for the confusion.

Main point is if you start these cleaning procedures after the significant other is asleep, then it's like a build thread without pictures, it didn't happen.:D

What about a build thread-that is only pictures? lol

But.... what about all the senseless banter?.. how would I kill my time....
You're right Steve, crazy idea....

So, since it's early on Saturday I figured this would be ok, it is a light beer for goodness sake.

Just deleting my alcohol pictures might cut my threads in half!

It happend, you just can't tell anybody.

I'm thinking you and I are the only ones that have been in on the wordless thread here lol

Maybe we should go delete anything that isn't pictures on our threads? That would make my two about ten to fifteen pages each. Lol

Terrible idea-more words the better, and Beer.. lol

But.... what about all the senseless banter?.. how would I kill my time....

Agreed. I come for the tech but stay for the banter...:)

I want to know what kind of shamelsss troll drinks Bud light, and then takes a picture of it?
Unless you're using it as a spit cup,...then I guess it's ok.

WTF happened with the windows?
It's a complete I had to get shot today. It was close to a sand quarry/pit when our last big storm hit and was essentially sand blasted in the storm. So it had to be completely disassembled for repair and paint. Besides the fact it needed all new glass since it all had been pitted.

.... we had a mishap today.... I shot the interior paint on the arm rest, it didn't take. I did all the steps I took last time, save for the fact I wasn't in direct sunlight today. I will try again tomorrow after I grey scotchbright all this chit off.

This time I will go with
Prep spray, ADHESION PROMOTER, paint. Apparently the promoter was not needed on the other parts... different material maybe? Ah live and learn.....

I did get the interior dew wipes on today, LMR forgot the screws that were supposed to come with them but I made due with rivets. (I'll save the pics for when they go back in the car, they need a good cleaning).

So tomorrow I am tearing the roof off my back porch to replace some rotten wood, I will work on this thing in between breaks up there.... sun is already brutal this year....

I hope to get these parts painted and the front windows adjusted, maybe even sneak the door panels back on...

The washer really got the carpet clean.... but it disintegrated the piping around the outer edge...

luckily this piece is not highly visible with the box and front seats in place....
Soo..... @Davedacarpainter what do I use to dye it? Adhesion promoter then viynal dye?....... or should I wrap it in felt?....(probably not huh)

I had to order the screws separate from my wipes fwiw Steve.

You might want to use the adhesion promoter on any bare plastic you paint. If it is a part that's already painted, you won't need it.

I hadn't really researched carpets that much since i got new ones for both of mine. I've heard any of the interior dyes or paints work decently. If it's made from a nylon thread, then an adhesion promoter would be a good idea.

Once the paint/dye dries, brush your carpet. That will soften it back up.

:leghump: the sun. Got the metal torn off the deck, I was moving fast and the wife was trying to keep up. I was passing the removed sheets down to her as I pulled them off, she did well. It only took us about 1.5 hours to strip the metal off a 10x70 roof. Not bad..

I got to repainting after that, I prepped and used adhesion promoter this time, the paint adhered better but will still come off with a hard scrape from a fingernail.... Oh well I'm done messing with it, they will have to do.

the new pads look great against the fresh paint, I do have one complaint though. The screws sent for the armrest pads do not match the ones off the old pads, the new ones are literally 1 1/8" drywall screws. I went and grabbed some from the shed just to compare them.... I'm a bit disappointed with that as they don't seem to grab the pad well...

I also got the carpet dyed and glued/stapled on the rear quarter panel, it will do as its not in a direct line of sight.
I need to get some speaker wire so I can finalize the rear speakers and get wires extended to the trunk area.
This is like starting all over..... lol

Yesterday I got a few things done.. I forgot to take pictures of them though... lol
So I will leave you with a teaser.

I was also able to get the speakers for the front all wired up and the crossovers into place. What a pain in the Ass that was, trying to tuck wires and crossovers up out of the way so they won't become problems themselves.

On an aside I was asked to be the election judge for my local union. I said yes without really looking into how much responsibility you take on to do this job. I have to answer to two lawyers and the DOL.... jeez...
