Ok i can get a set of Bassaina Equal lenghth headers and off road X-pipe for $300 from a friend. I am wondering if it is worth it to do this or just to wait and do LT's.....How much of a power difference is there? i have always heard that equal lengths aren't worth it, but for 300 for x pipe and headers should i just go for it?

If i get the headers and x-pipe we will be taking them off his car and putting them on mine next weekend. After this i plan on a intake and i will be done for a little while till i can afford heads or a turbo.

AHH!! dont do it!...no more people are allowed to have Bassani headers and X....i wanna still be different...only 2 of us here in the 94-95 forums have bassani headers and x...and both of us LOVE them...and thats a good deal as well...they are kinda a bitch to install but ill give you the little secret if you do go ahead and buy them...i guess 3 people can have those headers and x pipe...cuz im still the only one with all 3 Bassani pieces! :spot:

yeah i decided i am going to get them becuase they are 50 state legal and i live in CA so i can just sway the h pipe in for smog....so whats the secret? And i am going to keep my stock cat back with weld in flows for i while....then i might go mangaflow or bassiani.

MM&FF magazine did a test of all of header types and unequal length headers made the most torque, long tube headers made the most hp, but the difference was only about 4 to 5 hp and torque in both cases. There isn't that big of a difference. This was on a 351W I think.

no lt are less low end more highend....my freind is going turbo so i get a sweet deal :) thanks for the info guys.

LT's should give you alot more low end torque on a properly setup combo. Just look at the MM&FF test, the long tubes had 30ft/lbs on the shorties at 3k rpms. The LT's should give you more area under the curve for both torque and horsepower. Peak numbers aren't everything...
