well once i get my aod squared away and my rear end seals my next mission is my exhaust.since all i have is an h-pipe...
my choice is a magnaflow 'lx' catback with cobra bumper plan

but im also considering macs dumps cause there cheaper.

and i just saw these on ebay and wanted to know what they would sound like if i just bought some flowtubes and welded these on, there tip would allow me to pretty much just make a custom dump setup!!!

http://i6.ebayimg.com/08/i/000/ca/f4/654a_1_sbl.JPG
and there like 30 shipped so thats 60.00=plus 45.00 for the flow tubes my own crappy weld job and maybe some hanger job if needed. for a grand total of 115.00
but i have no idea how it would sound and it would be a complete gamble!!! and then i cant have cool tailpipes and need for a cobra bumper

basically i just want to know if anyone knows the sound or can guess what it will produce...
i am a magnaflow fan now! for sure. deep mellow and roar but i dont think a magan catback will be loud enough for me!!

If all you're looking for is good sound from cheap mufflers, just buy a pair of Summit or Jeg's brand mufflers for $15 apiece and be done with it. Why on God's green Earth would you bother putting fart cans on a Fox?

I've seen it and heard it. It is NOT pretty.

I've also seen an STS with Supertrapps. That thing sounded like a whole hive of angry bees.

its the motor that makes the sound, its the muffler that tones it. the muffler has less to do with the sound than the motor. that muffler wont make the car sound like a rice burner; but it certianly wont sound like high end muffler systems like pacesetter, magnaflow, borla etc...

btw doesnt the cadillac STS have a 4.6L northstar motor? those motors sound like ass regardless, ive seen custom exhaust set ups on other cadillacs with the same motor and it sounded retarded

I haven't heard 'em on a V8, that I remember, but I've seen/heard them behind a V6. Horrible, horrible sound. Not quite the ricer sound, but it still reminds me of a wet fart...

Ummm ... other than someone working on the car, or unless you leave them hanging way low, who's actually going to see them under there?

yah i am thinking about it but, i don't want to be barking with no bite,,
magnaflow or this idea. are my options..the only advantage is that with the magna i can have tailpipes...which every hot nice car should have..nice exhaust tips.

Naw, dawg! Yo, git u sum dem big smokestack pipes offa diesel semi truck, yo! Dat oughtta be TIGHT, yo!

Seriously, though, the Magnaflows would be a better idea because you're not limiting your options for later on. In other words, if/when you decide to put tails on there (and trust me, unless you like the sound of exhaust drone, and sucking fumes, you WILL eventually get tired of it), you won't have to buy ANOTHER pair of mufflers.

Of course, you could always bolt on a pair of Violators, as well... *gives friendly nudge in direction of Pypes Exhaust website*

what the hell. pacesetter is better than flowmaster, dynomax, and other similar mufflers. just my opinion.
