Progress!

Love that it's getting the pro attention it deserves. The project had just come to be out of my league. I'm stoked that my preferred hood fit. Their work on the inner fender in the engine bay looks like it's gonna turn out nice and they've repaired the damage to the core/radiator support. I got some interior quarter panels and they made em fit without cutting the cage. They're also modifying the cage to give me more seat/leg room. Of course, you can see they've got the black dash I've been storing forever put in. They'll relocate the computer & MSD box to the rear seat delete area.

I sent them a turbo upgrade, which is basically an S480 in a GT42R frame. It's a turbo that is brand new to the market and couldn't have come at a better time. It's the exact same footprint as my current GT42R76, and will greatly reduce backpressure. It should be good for around 1,100 rwhp.

It's time to start coming up with a new name for the car. Grover and Black Jack just fit my others. This one has gone through iterations that never felt right or only expressed my disappointment: Snake Pit, Father Time... Maybe something simple like "Blue" since when they're done, it'll be some shade of...

Is nobody else going to mention that in this color and light that you cannot tell if those vents are protruding down, into or up, out of the hood?

Ha! It's a standard Heat Extractor hood, like the '03 Cobra.

A bit more progress. Comment from the shop:

Quick update. We have made some progress!
Underside of the car we epoxy coated, seam sealed and sprayed with black raptor liner.

Finished shaving/body working the engine bay, got it primed and sanded out. Then sprayed color/clear!

Engine/trans/rearend as well as the front/rear suspension are back in it. Next up will be to finish sanding the car and get it into primer so we can block it out.

Now that it's blue, how about "Blue Smoke" for a name?

It's coming along, fellas. Still needs side-skirts, wheels cleaned up, & some interior/electrical work.

That's too bad, because he made this job so easy. Yep, someone did the work for me while I was deployed. Check the end of my OP.

Thanks, it's good to be back. Right, the entire rear end is getting an overhaul. At a minimum, I'll sand and repaint the cover.

331, AFR205s. I have a guess at what the car will make, but I'd rather not speculate to others. Whatever it makes, I'll be good with. You can look up the rating of the GT42R-76mm turbo, and the shortblock should be plenty stout enough to take all of it.

I don’t think 1k is out of the realm . May need a little more turbo but I think it’s a stick car right ? Easy 800 for sure

It made 881 and needed more wastegate spring, but had more turbo than the reef blue car that went 954rwhp. The new 80mm turbo has a lot more ass than the 76 did. 1k is no issue as long as it all stays together, which it should... We'll see.
