i believe they are MAC chrome 2.5" tails. they look great but really quieted her down a lot. i dunno if i like it yet, i really liked how it sounded with dumps. i just put these on temporarily until i can afford to get some new long tubes, an x pipe, and some flowmaster 3" tails.

excuse her filthiness, it's been storming the past 5 days...

They look nice but stick out just a hair too much for my taste...maybe its just the angle i am looking?

Looks great.

*off topic* I don't understand why Mustang guys like their cars so darn loud. If I have a loud car it better back up the rumble!! *off topic*

thanks. it's not that i liked it more because it was louder, even though i did like it lol, but it had a raspier, lower, rumble to it. now the cam is not AS noticeable...it has more of a hollow sound, like it was coming out of what i just put on it...a pipe. i just went for a cruise in it to listen to it some more and i'm still indifferent. sounds great but no where near as audible at idle. i dunno, i've never owned a stang with tails that were actually hooked up and i guess i'm just used to the dumped sound. hopefully it'll grow on me cause im not taking them off for at least a couple months.

I'm fighting the same battle. I always run my cars without tailpipes, but me and a buddy temporarily put a set of stock 2 1/4 tails on my 90 to see what it would sound like. I think I like it, but I'm not sure yet. I think I'm going to buy a set of 2 1/2 mandrel bent pipes and have them welded on. Maybe I can make a decision then.

Dumps sound awesome from the outside, but I've always hated how they sound inside the car - DRRRROOOOOOOOOONE! That and the noxious fumes filling the interior were always kind of a turn-off for me. Even with tails, I wind up stinking of exhaust fumes enough, as it is, when I go out for a drive in teh Notch, so I can only imagine how bad it'd be in that car with dumps.

Why the need for 3" tails, though? Just for sound, or for looks? Or are you actually running 3" all the way from the headers on back?

oh yeah, i wreaked of gas anytime i drove my car. it doesn't help that it's still running really rich too, lol. nah i'm running 2.5" all the way back. i want the 3" tails mainly for looks, hopefully they'll help with sound a little too though. i like how the flowmasters kind of wrap down and around the gas tank, i think they look badass. having a GT with a cobra bumper will also hide the line where they go from polished to not.

Decided to put tailpipes on. (x2 on stinking exhaust) Even though in a vert the dumps sound sick I still hate the exhaust coming thru the parking brake area.
