How did you go about it if you dont mind. I have a pair of stainless tips I plan to polish, and wouldnt mind them looking as good as yours!

Nice job!
Yeah he stopped by my house, they look exceptional!!! really nice work. The pipes were not actually stainless but galvanized...MUCH easier to work with than stanless IMO, galvanized metal is basically just standard prep and polish that you use on cast aluminum.

Hmmm...If in fact they were galvanized and not stainless, then he basically removed the protective coating which keeps the rust away. They will then rust in short order and start pitting. The same goes with "aluminized" coatings.

Any idea what brand they are?

Thanks Guys!..they are Dynomax Tailpipes, and yes they are galvanized. I know that removing the coating will cut down on the life of the pipe, but i never drive the car in the rain, and i will always have a coat of polish on them.. For those wondering, i first used 180grit, 240 grit, 320grit, 400grit, then finally a 1200grit. Im sure if i would have went with a 800grit before the 1200grit that the results would have been even better, but i did not have any at the time. After sanding, i used some turtle wax chrome polish with a mini buffer pad.
