well, took me 30 minutes to get it in there, test, and download the program to the tweecer..

first thing I noticed was that I had the T4M0 program (94/95 5-speed VERT) but I own a coupe, so I assumed I should have the W4H0 ??

Secondly, I read the EEC to CalEdit, and then enabled a few data logging functions, and then wrote to Tweecer.. needless to say the car ran like a dog, couldn't even go above 1200 rpm.. (So I switched to program 5 on the dial and skipped the tweecer)..

I noticed though that right beside the read eec is a drop down list that says A9L..??? I can't seem to find anything about this, but in that list I don't see any 94/95 programs (all A** or Z*)

Also, on the data logging, my voltage was never solid @ 12 or anything, it was all over the place, 3 - 14 ..

So, I'm going to go join the tweecer forums on yahoo, etc, but, any advice on which program I should run, AND, if I should upgrade to that Alpha software, would be appreciated !!

THANKS..

- GT coupes use T4M0, despite what it says on the TwEECer web site.
- On the CalEdit I/O screen you don't need to select a particular strategy unless you have trouble reading your EEC.
- In CalCon you do need to select the correct EEC when datalogging.

Definitely go on the TwEECer forums, there's a lot of helpful people there.

okay, thanks guys, I'm going to go out and try it again, save the stock program to each setting on the tweecer, and go for a drive..

many people say you may have a bad connection to the J3 port, but, how could it read/write the program if the connection is bad? (there was a lot of white grease on the gold terminals on the ford eec, is that screwing up the signal by chance?

the car was driving like it had 2 cylinders, it was really strange.. I'll keep playin' around

I doubt the connection was bad, that grease is conductive, it's supposed to be there. Like you said, if it read everything, I don't see why the connection could be bad. But then again, if the voltage was going crazy maybe it's loose or something

What version of CalEdit do you have? I noticed some wierd crap with the newest files I downloaded just recently. Like Fan Low Speed enable: 490°F ???

Look at the MAF transfer.

From the pull down menu where you see A9L, etc. you need to choose ZA0. The ZA0 is the computer from the 95 Cobra R's I think, but it's also the designation for the family of processors that our T4M0 resides under. I've been reading that it's easier to start with the J4J1 Cobra calibration as a base tune. My laptop is in the mail right now though so I haven't been able to try it(I'm pretty new to the twEECer as well). So maybe you can give that a try.

wow, I'm using RT120B3, and just pulling the program from the EEC directly (instead of downloading from the web)..

is that RT130A7 or A8 update? I may not upgrade to that if so..

Definitely clean the J3 port up good, there shouldn't be anything at all on it. Use a cotton swab and alcohol and go to town. On some of them, Ford coated it with insulating material that you want to make sure is completely removed.

Dave

So then is that grease just for anti corrosion or something?

jetuomi - it does that for both versions, but if you open up the CBAZA strategy, all the numbers look fine, so I think it has something to do with that. Maybe try running that strategy or something other than the A9L one.

The grease is non-conductive, for anti-corrosion, and for lubrication of the contacts. It will not hurt if it is there.

Dave is refering to a different coating that they sometimes use. It's probably like a clear coat type of deal. That way it keeps the contacts from getting corroded. That clear coat would need cleaned off.

I'd clean the connector and see what's up.

jetuomi - I posted in the tweecer forum and asked why the numbers were all off, we need to select the CBAZA strategy. That might do the trick for you.

okay, I'll try that tomorrow !!

guys, thanks for all the help!! stangnet rocks, I can't wait to get knowledgeable in the tuning area.. (it feels like 3 years ago when I first got my stang and didn't know what an off-road h-pipe was!!)

:D

I'll keep u all posted on this, so last question, should I try out the Alpha 8 release of the software?? what is everyone running?

okay, so I needed to upgrade to the alpha 8 software to get that strategy?? anyways, did that, cleaned up the EEC/tweecer connection with some alcohol (Almost bent a gold pin too, ARGHHH!!) anyways, new software looks a bit nicer, I'll install tomorrow and retest, more to follow.
(screen shots too!)

Excellent, so your only motor mod is the H-pipe as listed in your sig?

If you get it all up soon, mind emailing me some datalogs to check out? I've yet to see some logs for the stock motor.

yeap bone stock cept for h-pipe (and pulleys and coil).. yeah, I can send some datalogs.. any single function you think I should log??
