I am having a 347 built using an Eagle stroker kit. It will have TFS T/W O-ringed heads with the stock Cobra upper/lower. My questions are:

1. What cam to use that is compatible with the Cobra computer (Don't want to use a TwEEcer or PMS yet)?

2. The stock TB is 60mm. Where can you get 65, 70 75mm from? Will TB's for 89-93 work? What is the difference? It just looks like the throttle linkage is oriented different.

3. Who makes a Strut Tower Brace for 94-95's with Cobra intake?

4. Where have you gone to get a replacement for the LED lights in the rear spoiler? Is this a Ford replacement part? How much?

Thanks,
Paul

1. Call Lunati or the manufacturer of your choice and let them know what your setup is currently and your goals for the future. They can help you configure the bumpstick for your driving habits and goals.
2. BBK, Edelbrock, Accufab (maybe)
3. Steeda, Edelbrock
4. No clue, maybe speedworx.com

Good luck!!

1. Custom cam for your application from Flow Tech Induction, Comp and the like.

2. FRPP has a 65MM TB with all the sensors on it installed. However with your 347 I would opt for a BBK 70 or 75MM.

3. All the suspension companies make aftermarket strut tower braces that fit.

4. Not sure which lights you are referring to.

Grab a Muscle Mustang and Fast Fords magazine and shop for the other items.

Thanks for the info. I guess I use a custom grind. What is cost vs. off the shelf cams? I was looking at either a Steeda #19 of a TFS stage 1, but from what I've read the stock Cobra cam has a LSA of 118.5 The #19 is 115 and TFS is 112. I believe I'll need a cam with a greater LSA to make the computer happy.

The light is the third brake light which is an LED strip in the rear spoiler of 94-95 Cobras.

With the stroker moving all of that extra air flow, I can almost guarantee your load will be so far off in the pcm that you will have to use a self tuner or chip.

Besides why do the stroker and put a cam in it with pcm concerns. That will only result in leaving massive power on the table from the stroker combo.

the steeda 19 cam is good for the cobra computer and some people use the trick flow stage one quite often .... I thought my throttle body was 65mm? I was going to get the 70mm professional products one off ebay or off this site for under 150 bucks? and I thought my spoiler had regular bulbs back there?

I should have said I don't want to have to BUY a twEECer or PMS yet. The motor is being built by Thunder Motorsport in Boynton Beach, FL. The car will be dyno tuned. However, when my car is regularly tuned I don't believe they use a TwEECer or PMS. The have made adjustment to the pcm using a some sort of red LCD device that plugs into the service port. It's probably a EEC tuner, but I'm just guessing.

From my research only '93 Cobras had the 65mm, 94-95's have 60mm just like GT's. What year is your cobra? Have you already replaced the light(s)/bulb(s) in your spoiler? Also I am still trying to find out if TB's for 89-93 will work/fit a 94-95 Cobra intake. All catalogs list TB's for 89-93 96-04 (except cobra).

I know this is a reply to myself, but it is also informational. I checked Brothers Performance Warehouse which I have done many times in the past and lo and behold I found TB's specific to the 94-95 mustangs and cobras. So now I am a happy camper.

wow, sounds like a good setup. Only thing, is I would never use a PMS again. It was absolutely a pain in the ass. It had sooooooooo many problems, and would loose its program every once and a while. I remember I spent almost 3 days straight all day on the dyno at Lugo's and he even was having problems, he told me that every one he has ever had, had problems, and none of the problems were ever the same.

The LED's are near impossible to find now from what I've heard. Luckily mine work so I haven't run into that problem yet. If you can do electronics at all it probably wouldnt be hard to repair/replace the one in there.

1) i recommend a custom cam FTI cams are great and wont break your budget... i've also heard of people flashing the 94/95 computers with the A9L program (not as expensive as a tune... no this isn't swaping computers but actually flashing it with the fox computer that isn't so pickey about cams)

2) i'd go with atleast a 70mm but a a 75mm would be better (you wont lose power with a larger throttle body like you would with a smaller one)

3) i believe steeda sells them, but i'd bump the intake manifold up to something like a systemax II or rpm II

4) i dunno

Those people you speak about have been giving you info on two different topics concerning the 94-95 pcm.

1) It is not possible to "flash" their memory.

2) It is not possible to make a fox pcm out of a 94-95 pcm.

1) I would think the stage 1 cam would be too small for that stroker.
2) Summitracing.com
3) Steeda, BBK, etc.
4) Check with ford I guess

The stock lower Cobra intake will be holding back significant power - but a good cam grinder might be able to get some of it back with cam grind and still satisfy your sometimes finicky EEC. The lower really needs to be ported for a 347 for best results all around.

I believe you stated in another thread that a ported Cobra lower will flow about 250 CFM's comapared to 198-200 for a unported lower. Approximately what are the HP and TQ differences between the two. I'm just curious, but since the price to port is very reasonable I gonna port regardless.

I have results and dynos on my website (see sig) - including some with no changes other than the intake (LX Mike). Spend some time looking around.
