Ford toploader dissassembly

Great news!!!! I was fooling around with the transmission today, and had noticed the blocker ring to the first gear was stuck to the gear, i pried it off with a flat tip screw driver and the transmission works perfectly!!!
All except for 2nd gear, I inspected the teeth on it more and realized that the gear really needs to be replaced, because when i put it in second, it grips for a second the gives, so I need to tear the transmission back down and replace 2nd
Only problem is removing my bearings, is there anywhere that has a cheap bearing puller? or is there a way we can make a home made one? were pretty good at fabricating.

Good--sticking blocker ring is quite common.

I have never used a puller and haven't needed one. You will not need to remove the front bearing. Install a dummy shaft in the countergear and allow it to drop. Then the input shaft/front bearing can be pulled out of the case still assembled.

To remove the output shaft I remove the large outer C clip from the bearing and then push the shaft inside far enough to remove the shift forks. Then I pull the shaft back in place in the case and reinstall the big C clip. Next I remove the rear bearing retainer clip (the one on the output shaft.) Using a brass hammer or a short 2x4 and a big hammer I drive the shaft into the case and this will shove the bearing off the shaft. Remove the bearing off the shaft and then pull the input shaft assembly out of the top of the case.
