I'd go for a '91-'93 GT 5 speed...I think the earlier wheels were butt ugly, and I think the non-airbag wheel was ugly too. Sure you get hypereutectic pistons in '93, but who cares...nobody should be putting a blower on a stock 20 year old motor anyway. That said I'd still take a '91-'92 over a '93 just because, but if a clean '93 came around I'd scoop it up. I think '92 was a low production year though.
All that said though, in high school my buddy and I found him a clean '87 hatch AOD for $1500 and scooped it up and it was a lot of fun, AOD aside.
I don't care for notches, like the other guy said they are the cool car to own on the internet but in real life they are about as ugly and plain and the utter definition of '80s box IMO and it's not like a hatch/GT weighs so ungodly much more than a notch anyway. Sure the notch is the fastest, but all 5.0s are fast or will be when you are done with them so unless you are looking to run 9s or 8s, who cares.

i guess the countless other member who are running stock internals to 500rwhp are wrong too? ****, i knew i should have slapped a ysi on my stock block 331, oh hai jeff
but as we all know i'll go 15 rounds any day.
