front brakes

I am in need of front brakes and i have a set of slotted rotors and hawk racing brake pads.In order for me to change my brakes is there anything i need to do to the rotors before i swap them?They are both brand new.

Since they're new, they obviously don't need turning. Just spray 'em down well with brake cleaner so there's no grease or anything on them when you go to run them.

Don't forget you need to grease up the hubs on the new rotors too and put the bearings and everything into it.

Thanks for the info guys.On eproblem that i seem to be having once in a while is that my brakes seem to be unresponsive.When i go to apply the brakes the pedal goes to the floor and the brakes do not stop.Its only a momentary thing but it happens only once in a while, then eventually the brakes catch and it slows down.What would cause this?I know its either vaccuum or air in the system, but how would i go about determining which?

Theres not such thing as vacuum in your brakes. Bleed the brakes that you touched again. If it goes to the floor and has some bracking at the bottomt, then there is defineately air in the system.

Thanks, i feel like a moron askin these questions but i've never done brakes before.i will try to bleed the brakes and see what happens.Hopefully it solves the problem.also, when i change the rotors should i just change the bearings?They are prolly the originals.I figure it might save a headache further down the road.Appreciate the responses.
