Hi everybody! Have 2001 GT. Bought it new in 2001. Been sitting for 7 or 8 years but starts with starting spray. Fuel mucky. Bought new tank and associated attachments. However, can't find a Pressure Regulator, the larger of the blue vent thingys on the top of the tank. Can ANYBODY help me find one? I also have to repair the AC Heater hose nipple coming off the manifold. Scott

First thing I'd do is plop a BDS blower on it but that would just complicate your issue.

Sooooo I'll move this to a forum that should get you better advice, Welcome to

Thread '2001 Mustang GT -- Valve Assembly Pressure Regulator Solution Found!'

Aug 17, 2024
Hello Everyone,

So I finished a 9 month partial restoration of my 2001 GT. Soooo good to have it back on the road now. One of the hurdles I ran into and panicked about was the fuel tank "Valve Assembly Pressure Regulator"... the bigger of the two blue valves that you find on the fuel tank. The exact ford part number is extremely rare if not gone. HOWEVER.... I found the model from a Lincoln is a solution. The ford part number is YW7Z-9B190-AA. That is important, there are similar part numbers that are not correct. I have a photo of the box attached. They are hard to find too, and about...

Sadly no. At least when I enter 01 mustang, it says no. I saw the other thing you sent using the part from a Lincoln. Why in the world would they stop making this part available? I am also still looking on how to repair the nipple coming from the manifold to the heater hose.

I’d buy a used fuel tank with it already on it if I could find one. I’d even pay for the shipping.

10 years is how long they produce parts for a car. Generally, it's what on-hand or provided by the aftermarket beyond that. Pieces that were made for few or [one] production line, become hard to come by.

Try finding a brand new Fox distributor for EEC-IV Fi. They made that part for 20 years but... no more. The ones for the 85 and before that (carbed cars) are even harder to come by.

OK, you got the part number for the one in the car now?
Make friends with the NAPA counter person......and the ford dealer.....plug that number above into an interchange like hollender...
I've had to hunt down some strange stuff for my 97SD. An acquaintance at a large salvage yard helped me out with a interchange book.
