Actually, it is simple to do. If in doubt, have someone help you. Trying to "fix" the broken one will be much harder and is a bandaid fix at best.
I understand the band aid thing. For years I was a jet mechanic, so I know when I can and can’t let something fly. So I won’t let the car back on the road if I’m not feeling comfy it’ll be ok. However, I will take ur advice and look into how difficult it’ll be for me. I’m alone, so nobody to ask for help.

Ok, so I'm almost ready to pull the trigger, but....when I research a new one, I'm understanding I need the PI version since it is a 2001. But some of the new manifolds have a coolant sensor on the left AND on the right, next to the thermostat. My car only has the one sensor on the left. Any thoughts/comments?

Use the port you need. You'll plug the other. Also, engine side is viewed from driver seat, i.e.: left side of engine is driver, right side of engine is passenger. Depending on your current manifold, be sure the alternator bracket fits the new one. Some of the original plastic ones would not work with the newer "aluminum" crossover and you then need to purchase a new bracket.

Since my car is an 2001, it already has the correct bracket. The more videos I watch the more daring I get. I’m almost there. I also am concerned what buying the right part. Not the right part number, the best part for my car.
