I run a Ecam with good results now, and a good idle.
I have came across a good deal on some AFR165s and was thinking of getting a FTI cam to top it off....any input.

I am torn to just stay with what I have since the elde heads/ecam are performing...any input?
I hear alotta good stuff about the AFR/FTI combos, but have yet to be beat by one.

Thanks
Paul

If you want the full potential of your engine (well there's always room for improvement) then I guess go with an FTI cam and the AFR. This combo worked great with me. If you're happy with the numbers you're getting, and they seems pretty good from what I can see, then stay with your combo. Might not be worthed unless you cant pass on that deal.

I had the FTI cam and the AFR and I was really happy with it and highly recommend this combo.

Thanks for the info...how did you pick your cam, or does Ed? Some local guys run these combos with some sweet results.

Whos Edas5.0?

Actually that pic in your avatar looks familiar so you might be Eades "hiding" on another ID and you know all about FTI/AFR "stories"..

if not..I'll answer the question. You need to have specific goals for your car and "obligations" (..not the right term for this). Ed decided what was gonna be the cam after what I asked him. He also knew all the parts I had, with combo, gears, etc. Example:

* Nice lumpy idle but not too lumpy.
* Dont wanna stall at stop signs and lights because of bad idling.
* Still want to be able to do 3hr long drives with the car
* I didnt want to have to shift passed 6200rpm so peak power below 6000rpm
* I want a naturally aspirated cam basicly BUT that could do well also with nitrous or supercharger. This remains a n/a cam.
* Need to work/clear with stock pistons
* Looking for at least 300rwhp and 325rwtq

Just simple things here. But it paid off getting that cam from him.

Eades dude come on man another freaking AFR/FTI/EDDY conversation man you making me want to leave now lol nahh not really
BTW i think you and paul wall are the same dude for real until you prove me otherwise.
