FWA brass piece. Do i need it? (Pic)

Ok guys with the fwa , i got a stupid question , when i got my fwa it came with a brass fitting thats suppose to go inside the fwa, when i took off the plastic piece on the cable i tryed to put it on with the fitting , well it did not fit but fits great with out the brass, do i need this piece on there, from what i see i dont but could use a 2nd opinion. Looks like i can just use the allen key and put the screw right on the white piece and not the brass. correct me if im wrong. thanks again

just dont tighten the allen down too tight , I dont see that it would affect anything unless you cranked that down too tight

Thanks i dont think it will hurt it cause it being hard plastic, any1 ever have a problem with the brass sleve bf.

Isnt the brass for SN95's?

I thought I had a vague recollection of something like that.

i didnt use the sleeve on my FWA, if it fits fine without it, leave it out!(its for cables that the hard plastic piece is a smaller diameter..which yours isnt)

Both Mark and JT are correct on this one. The newer cables are smaller in diameter and require the bushing to take up the slack.

your picture doesn't appear to show a set screw on the the adjuster to keep your setting. If the piece you have doesn't have a set screw or jam nut then I wish you luck with it. Because it will loose its adjustment on its own.
