Ok, my daughters 2.3 is getting terrible gas mileage compared to my 5.0
I plan on changing the plugs and running some fuel injector cleaner in it and also changing the points and dist. Once I do that I will time it and see if that helps. What kind of gas mileage should this thing be getting? I figured it would get better gas mileage than mine would. Could it be anything else? She has already put gas into it three times this week since Sunday and I just filled mine back up last night. I drive about 125 miles a day compared to her 45 to 60.

Thanks, Brian

BONE Stock LX 2.3 N/A should average 300 to 330 Miles a Tank on a Interstate Drive. Roughly 24-27 MPG My Commuter 2.3 gets that and I drive 80 miles round trip for work 1/2 straight country road (55-65 mph) and 1/2 I-65 at 75 mph. check these things on the 2.3. fuel filter, plugs, wires, injectors (clean them anyways) and DONT run high octaine in it it is not made for it use the low or mid if the mid works well.....

Air filter, O2 sensor, and make sure engine is getting up to operating temperature.

That little hose that runs out the bottom of intake manifold usually gets plugged and stops coolant flow past sensor, and nobody ever flushes this out.
If it has been more than 3 years do a coolant flush and new thermostat.

Antifreeze goes acidic after a while.

I think those two things are the most important. You could also pull for codes... and if you are still stuck, make sure it is going into closed loop after it warms up. When I was bone stock, my auto got 22-24 combined ciy highway. Now, I am getting 22 with 90% in town, but I have mild mods.

Thanks guys, I will try that today and see. I plan on doing a tune-up on it today. If this doesn't work, it's gone. Too bad, the body and interior are sweet.
