Let the threads begin, I dont learn very quickly now do I boys I bought yet another "old" ride. But at least this time its in reasonable shape to begin with and has a certian coolness factor.
Its a 77 F250 4X4 camper special. 351m 4 spd
It has the open knuckle high pinion dana 44 front end along with the married trannie and t-case making it a later 77 or commonly known as a 77.5 (this is the year they changed)
It has the camper special package, this gave it sway bars, dual batteries, dual tanks, camper wiring, steering stabilizer,overload springs, large swing out mirrors and maybe a few other things.
It has a aftermarket fabricated stepside box on it, I got the original box with a fiberglass canopy aswell.
Its in pretty good shape from what i can see, Its had a paint job in 97 but no serious metal work was done, One cab corner and one front fender are bubbling so the rust is coming from the inside out, they will need to be replaced in time. The doors are in good shape other than rust holes where the larger mirrors attach to the bottom of the doors. thats in a flat spot so easy patch job ill do right away. The original box had a bondo job done on the rear fender wells i think so either whole new box sides or a patch panel, but that box isnt on it right now.
I checked all the ujoints, steering linkage, splines and all seems good exept for the upper ball joints (king pins) are wore. Ill replace them all.
The motor was rebuilt 20,000 miles ago, i did a compression check and that turned out well, no blue smoke, no blowby and it runs strong. The carb has some issues, its a holley 600 cfm 4bbl (edelbrock performer i think manifold was added) it leaks out the fuel rails and the electric choke works sometimes. Instead of messing with this 20 year old carb I think ill just bite the bullet and buy a new holley (maybe a truck avenger)
it has 410 gears (sorry it has no limited slip
Its got a 10,000 pound PTO winch on it aswell .
