ok my friend has a 99 GT auto and i don't know if its the spring edition or the 35th anniversary. he has the two black stripes on his hood and they say GT and he has the honeycomb back panel. anyways my question is did those special editions come with different gears than 3:27's cause he is really fast for having just about nothin but exhaust.

what you are describing is the spring edition. and i think they are only a 2000 model year, b/c all the 99s were the 35 'versary as all 04s are the 40th. and no, they came stock w/ the 3.27 gears. what is your interpretation of fast?

well we went to the track the other day when it was like 30 degrees outside and the track was reprepped and he was first in line to run. he ran a 13.7 @99 with a 1.90 60ft. on street tires and all he has is a densecharger, offroad x, and slp catback. i just have never seen this fast of an auto in person so i was just wonderin

youre right, that is fast. the 1.9 60 is what really helped him out. you said he was first to run? he got the absolute best conditions. 30* and brand new prepped track. there is a test you can do to see what gears you have. i think you drive 70 in 4th and whatever rpm=what gear ratio. example, at 70 in 4th i would tach 4100 rpms, which equals 4.10 gears. someone with 3.73s would tach 3730 rpms. someone correct me if im wrong

all 99's were 35th anniversary cars, but there are 35th anniversary "limited edition" cars, and even the vin is different. i have one in my garage. the differences:

hood scoop, with black stripe only up to the scoop.
honey comb rear panel on trunk lid
flush rocker panels
rear brake scoops that stick out instead of sitting flush with body.
2001-style wing
argent painted wheels
black and silver leather interior
"bullitt" style knob
silver gauge insert that says "35th anniversary"
colors may be different. (mine is performance red, a color not available on other gt's in '99)

a lot of these features came along on later mustangs, such as 2001's and on bullitts.
