Ok, I've only been to the track once in my life for 1 run when i was 17 so im kinda nervous.. I have MT slicks that i put on the car - in another post i think mob was saying avoid the water box, does that only apply to street tires? should i do the same? I kinda dont know if i should just heat them a little bit or not.. sorry kinda novice here when it comes to the "track" anyways here are some pics of the car with the slicks on it...

p.s. the slicks were a freebee

Thanks bro. I've never been to the track, so I'm sure you'll do at least better than me. I'd just watch everyone go for a couple hours and then go myself. Good luck!

anyway, I think with slicks you'll want to heat them in the water box...it's street radial tires that you don't want to heat!!

with slicks you want to back into the water box and do a good burnout while you ride out of the water box.

you will want to hit the water box and heat them up. the only time you drive around the water box is when you're on street tires. there is no reason to burn out for any length of time on them (you spin 'em reaaaalllly quick just to clean 'em off, thats it). go ahead and spin 'em!

he's got the idea!

edit: the water box just gives your slicks an better chance to spin.

Unless of course you live in North Alabama where it is customary for moron with hosepipe to spray in front of your car and watch you drive through it.
