Going to the track - some pics

i have mt street slicks there is tread on the sides but the weter they are, the harder they are to control... id say drive through the water and heat them puppys up real real good.. they'll be dry if you get an A1 burn out!

The thing I wasent expecting was, with street tires say you slip the clutch off the line or are even spinning off the line, the steering is very forgiving, you can move it around and youll still be going in the same direction. With the slicks its a DEAD hook, your body gets thrown back in the seat, your head will get THROWN back and your arms may swing around with it, so if you bearly move the wheel the car is gonna wanna go that way. Not saying its VERY DANGEROUS ONLY PROFESSIONALS CAN LAUNCH ON SLICKS, im just saying I wasent expecting it. And my heart was beating so fast when I got down the track and my neck hurt. After the first run its not big deal, but Ill never forget the first time haha, that was fun. Im sure 25th remembers the first time he launched on slicks.

Hey 91ghp I should be heading out to OSW next friday, not the 6th, but the next friday, with the heads on.

i now a guy who bought a belt to skip his a/c and power steering just for the track so he wont loose control might be a good idea i think belts are 16 bucks tops.. real cheap!

lol its not that serious

Dont use your toe on the clutch, toe on the gas, heel on the brake and left foot totally on the clutch...

My first ET Street pass (same as a slick more or less) resulted in a 1.84 60', and threw every thing from the front of the car to the back. I was not expecting it but got addicted fast. Now I run low 1.60s in the old mans car and it feels like a dog out of the hole. You get used to it fast. Tryng to get the keys to my friends Tremec equipped car that runs low 10s, been 9.90 and pulls mid 1.3 60's! That will be a hell of a launch!

Good luck and post back how it goes!

I got to ride in my buddies Syclone, he snapped off a 1.53 60".....Its an awesome feeling, what a rush!

I remember how nervous i was m first time at the track.....Now I love it, cant wait till the nest time i can run!

Yeah Ive been in 1.5 60' cars and even some cars that have been 1.4s, but imagine on the two step 7000 RPM, side stepping the clutch, hanging the front a couple feet in the air only to have it come down to a 1.35 60' and have to bang gears down the track... makes me wonder why anyone drives an auto!

Cant wait to get behind the wheel of that car!
