Awesome times Jake, a 1.89 60 foot for your first time out is amazing. Can't wait to see how your car improves. We'll have to meet up at Cedar Falls, or Rock Falls sometime this summer.

yea nice job jake! The ET's will fall with more practice.

What RPM were you passing the traps at? If you plan to keep the car n/a, maybe some steeper gears could be considered down the road.. A jump from 3.73's to 4.10's could make a dramatic difference. You may wanna wait until you retard the cam a bit though.

oh yeah... great times, welcome to the 12s, you will break the 12.5 barrier in no time as the air cools and you learn to launch?

what did you have the bfgs at?

on 15 inch bfgs i would try 12-14

they hook as well as et streets almost

I was crossing at about 5400. I want to do 4.10's definetly. Next summer though. I'm just about broke now. Don't know about retarding the cam, it looks like I peak around 5600 and wouldn't retarding it 2* move it up by 400rpm? Then I'd have to shift around 6300 or 6400 on the 1-2 and I don't know if I want to do that just yet on the stock short block. Maybe when it loosens up and I'm going for broke for 11's...

The BFG'ss were at 16.5psi. Yea, another guy was telling me to run 12 once they wear down a little. He told me they're just getting to the point now that they're going to hook good. Hopefully I can make another trip down to Iowa in a few weeks and get some more practice.

Good job Jake! Having sub-2.xx 60's and being in the 12's your first time out is amazing. Did you do a burnout or did you just spin them in the water?

holy chit, i'm retarded. we have four snowmobile helmets in our shed, and they never crossed my mind whenever i thought about needing a helmet for racing. haha thanks!!

A snowmobile helmet won't pass in most places depending on how strict tech is. I have a snell95 helmet which will be no good next year.

The snowmobiling helmet is DOT approved, is that enough? Tech is pretty lax at Cedar Falls.

Jake- The reason I ask is that some stick car guys don't do burnouts. I myself have never tried to do one in my 5-speed so I was just wondering.

Yep, I did a second gear burnout for about 8 seconds each time. If I went longer the tires just slipped. You should try....kinda fun...
