hows it going gang.....i just recently picked up a 06 gt and i am in love, i have been driving a g35 coupe since 2003 and it feels great to jump into a stang again (previosly owned a 2001 saleen).......

1st question....i plan on doing the bassani off-road x........."do i need mil eliminators?....(cause i had the bassani offroad x on the saleen and had to order the mil eliminators so the check engine light didnt come on)

2nd question...what mufflers do you recommend for a nice throaty sound....i was thinking maybe bassani......but (again on my saleen i just threw on the bassani offroad pipe with the stock saleen mufflers which were (BORLA) and it sounded amazing please let me have some of your feedback

3rd question...i also plan on doing a intake, maybe c&L or maybe the k&n.....i have been noticing some intake kits require a tune and some dont i dont get it?........what do you guys recommend for a good intake?

thanks for your help guys

Any intake you get, I would still recommend a tune.
A recent comparo put JLT II CAI on top.

I have borla for axle backs using MAC longtubes and MAC prochamber.
If you wanna hear em.. http://media.putfile.com/Boilin-em I'm very happy with the sound.

Welcome back to the Stang side!

go with C&L intake w/mustang magic tune. you need MIL eliminators. i have bassani x compcats and flows. personally i would never put any other mufflers other than flowmasters on a mustang, or any other v8. see what i am talking about in this clip.

if you, get a CAI with tune, you wont need MIL eliminators for the O/R pipe. just turn off the rear O2 sensors.

I also installed the AirAid CAI.
Installation is Straight-forward, it doesn't require a tune, it added 5 mpg to my tank, and it sounds Awesome with my FlowMasters!!! You can remove the MAF adapter from the AirAid and apply a "tune" if you want more gains, but I'm satisfied without a "tune".

-i really like how your car sounds with the flowmasters and bassani. (just to clarify you have the bassani catted x-pipe?.....and you still need to purchase the mil eliminators?....i thought you only need them if it was the off-road pipe)

also are the flowmasters just axle back? if so what kind of piping do you have between the axle and x pipe? (stock?)........

i was actually looking into doing the FULL bassani exhaust with a bassani x-pipe..........DO YOU GUYS THINK ITS NECESARRY?, OR, IS THE STOCK PIPING GOOD ENOUGH FLOW TO ONLY PURCHASE AXLE BACKS?

thanks for all the replies

(i was wondering also since the stock exhaust is 2.5 inches already), is that the reason people are just replacing the mufflers from the axle back because the stock piping can handle the jog?

the stock pipe is 2.5" mandrel bent. its good for 95% of people. some companies have eliminated a bend or two and claim it to be better.

there is no reason to change the stock piping, same thing. and yes its the catted x, and no you don't need MILs, sorry for the confusion
