I got the master cylinder/booster off of a 95 Mustang GT. The Master Cylinder has Bendix inscribed on the end of it, is that normal? Also, is the GT booster the same as the cobra booster from the M2300K package? This thing is huge haha. Also, does anyone have pictures of where the mount for the ebrake cables in the trans tunnel is on the 93 mustangs, i got the cables and mounts out of the 95 gt and am looking for a reference on where to bolt it up too.
 
Yes, the GT MC will say Bendix...that's who makes it for ford.

Gt/V6 booster is the same 205mm tandem booster as 94-95 cobra...and same as '93 cobra except for different stud pattern.

What brakes are you planning to run? If you are running cobra brakes, you should really run a '93 cobra MC. You'll find the 94-95 GT MC is too hard and you'll need a strong leg to lock up the brakes. I have a '95 GT MC...changing it out for a smaller bore '93 cobra MC this weekend. I'm still using the 95GT booster though.

As for the e-brake cables.

That link was perfect, thanks. I am running cobra brakes front and rear, and have the booster and m/c out of a 95 GT. My engine is completely stock right now except for a full exhaust, so it pulls 20 inches of vac at idle, so I'll see how hard the pedal is, i can always change out the m/c if it is too hard. Thanks for your help. I am also probably going to try to mount up the spare from a newer mustang (05+), it looks like the GT's came with a 17 incher, ill let you guys know how that goes too.

I've got the same setup with the 99+ 40mm Cobra calipers. My pedal is hard and takes a LOT of effort to lock up the wheels.

This weekend, if the weather is decent, i'll be swapping in a '93 cobra MC
 
Doh thats sounds like the same setup I have, i got the front spindles/hubs/calipers and rotos off of an 03 cobra. Let me know how the swap goes, the M/C doesn't look too expensive at least.
 
I got around to swapping out the MC today!

MUCH better. The braking feel is much more responsive. Before I could drive around fine and debating leaving the 94-95 Gt/V6 MC, but i'm glad i swapped it out. The car stops like it should. I was actually enjoying driving it around today because of how well the brakes were working now!

So i def suggest the '93 Cobra MC over the 94/95 GT MC>

My final combo

03-04 Mach 1 calipers (40mm pistons)
Rear cobra brakes
SN95 booster (off a '95 V6 I beleive)
93 cobra MC
 
Do you know what size pistons are in the gran marquis rear disks? I'm not too familiar with that setup.

There is a formula to figure out if an MC will work. Basically you add up the area of all the caliper pistons and divide it by the MC's piston size. Ideally a ratio of 13:1 to 14:1 is what you are shooting for.

If you can tell me what size pistons the rear brakes use i can calc out for you which MC is ideal.

EDIT:I have been searching for awhile now and can find nothing. All I can find is that the MC has a 1" bore. do you want me to run to the garage and measure it?

EDIT2: Went to the garage, measured the piston. 1 13/16" or around 46mm

Okay, assuming 46mm rear caliper

That gives you 9544 mm^2 of piston slave area. That's a lot of fluid to move.

I'll skip the small MC's and go right to the largest bores. The 94-95 GT/V6 MC and the SVO MC.

If you use the GT/V6 MC, you'll have a hydraulic ratio of 16.6:1
If you use the SVO MC, you'll have a hydraulic ratio of 14.9:1

The higher the number the softer the pedal.



Ratios of OEM setups
94-98 GT.V6 15.9:1
99-04 V6 16.7:1
1993 Cobra R 13.4:1
94-98 Cobra 15.2:1

My ratio with the MC i'm using is 14.3:1 and it feels great. With the GtV6 MC i was using, it was 12.7:1 and felt too firm
 
I finally got the 05+ gt spare, which looks to be a 17x5. It fits over the front brakes just barely. I actually thought it was going to rub, but i drove it around to be sure and there was no rubs. The only problem with this spare is it is slightly too large for the spare tire well, it sticks up maybe 1/2 an inch, i think the 17x4 spare may be the best option, it looks like both were offered at some point, mine even has the part numbers for both on the front.
