I'm pricing out forged shortblocks and am wondering how much HP will our stock GT crank take. I doubt I will ever go over 500rwhp. Also since my car is auto 6 bolt and will stay that way I'm not sure if there is even an adapter plate to mate up with a 8bolt Cobra crank. Anyone Know of an adapter for this?

I've never heard of an adapter for this kind of thing. If you're goal is a 500 rwhp, you should buy the steel Cobra crank and the 8 bolt automatic flywheel from FRPP. Would be foolish to risk breaking the crank and causeing the other damage you would likely have just to save a few bucks now.

Stock crank will handle in the range of 550hp. You could go to the Cobra crank, but it's really overkill unless you plan on spending a lot of time at or beyond 7,000RPM. And if you do choose to go with the Cobra crank, you're going to have to swap the flywheel too.

So FRPP does make an 8 bolt auto flywheel. Thats what i was hoping. I don't think I would need the cobra crank but the extra beef cant hurt and the extra cost doesn't matter either...Thanks guys :nice:
