Sorry its been a while, I have been busy these last couple of days. Well its out of the question now of me wanting to keep up with his cobra. He just quite his job at advance auto parts to start working at this metal plant and there starting him off at $16.12/hour. So he told me 2 days ago that he is saving up for a kenne bell. So I have totally given up. With my income I will never be able to even come close to his car with his soon to come setup.

for most of us guys that usually hit up the occasional highway jaunt then its more about mph than trap speed. 100mph stock is tough to beat from a roll, and what was the mph on those 13.38/12.90 runs.

don't get me wrong my h/c/i runs strong, but i have been rectally violated by a bolt-on Mach 1 from a 60 roll.

Nik_95Cobra: I wasnt saying that H/C/I are mild bolt ons i was comparing that to a bolt on geared cobra. Sorry for the missunderstanding

Bimmer: I do LOVE 96-98 cobras the sound and look of them. On the 13.38 he was going 104.XX i was going 107.25-107.60. The B-Heads that are on 96-98 cobras just really arent very good at all, especially when it come to N/A the ports are way to big and so many of them have problems with their IMRC's gumming up. A Mach 1 with the newest style heads are stronger runners and have a much better tq curve.

I'd stick to getting bolt ons and not a power adder. He'll still make fun of you if you need NOS or supercharger to beat him.

A buddy of mine was running 13.2s all day long with just 3.73s, timing adjuster, pullies, cai, x-pipe with dynomax catback, and nitto drags. They're pretty quick.

Dude, don't give up, dig in!

How about upping your income too? Go to school, get some education, and you can make alot more than $16 per hour. After 20 years programming, I make about $65 per hour. But being that I have the only income in my family and both kids are in private school, I don't have much left right now for toys.

I am considering going the same route as your buddy tho. A 96-98 4v is not all that expensive. Take that and bolt on a 2.2L intercooled KB and you can kick some serious butt!

not really right now they only have a 1.7L non intercooled blower for them. Most guys with full bolt ons and the blower only put down 375rwhp or so. I think that kenne might come out with something new soon. But 6-8psi of non intercooled blower leaves a lot to be desired.

the 2.2L intercooled version only works for C heads and 03/04 heads not 96-98 B heads

I think the 2.1 is intercooled for the 96-98 4v.

If you click on the supercharger applications and you will see a 2.1L but then when you click on it, the page says it has been "upgraded" to the 1.7L and if you read it says "no intercooler required" and it bolts to the factory lower which means to head exchanger.
