I just found a dyno video of the 2007 GT500 with the new Kenne Bell 2.8 blower....It looks to be putting down some very serious HP

Meh, i dont think it's ugly. But when you add power w/ weight you'd better add a lot of power. and for a 3900lb car with relitively poor handling 500hp 480 lbs of tq dont cut it. This is where a 2.8KB comes in and saves the day

s1972 are fugly as sin. the GT500 looks like a bloated pig. the drivetrain is the only thing good about the car.

wow, thats surprising to me. sleep all you want, that thing is bad. gt500's are well built, especially for being a pretty "modest" heavy car. and if anybody ever read anything about them, people like (mm&ff, 50 mustang and super fords, car and driver) say that the car rides like its NOT 3800 pounds. dont forget that the terminator is not much lighter either, and the gt500 has a 5.4L.. i can go on and on, the gt500 kicks ass and ill be driving one someday, (when the markup parade dies). now, go back to sleep

i didnt say anything about its performance just that the looks are bland. you'd think for a $45-75 car it would look better. would I turn one down if it was given to me? nope; but would I pay 60K for one? Oh **** no. I'll take an 07 Z06 and walk all over the GT500.

well i took it different because u said the drivetrain is the only good thing about the car, and the drivetrain is not looks.. so.. u get what im saying. im with u on the markup, but i would pay 35-40 grand for one in 2 years. ever since i saw that commercial with the gt500 in germany and this guy's i know in aston, pa (evolution performance) who's is in the low 10's now, i fell in love with the car.

I think that they are one of the sexiest cars ever to come out of ford ,and i think that it is even more sexy with the kenne bell 2.8 blower and 800rwhp ,Id definetly have one of those cars if i had that kind of money

I agree that the S197 GT's are pretty bland looking from the factory. A few not-too-radical aftermarket parts will make em look great though. They're a good canvass to make something your own.

The GT500's slight styling upgrades make it sexy as hell, in my opinion.

Didn't realize they were sellin those for 10 under MSRP. You can have your fatass Corvette for 30 under MSRP, I don't care. I'll take the 'stang.

And it does have a fat ass.

10 on slicks ,and only like 2 ppl have gotten them into 10's in stock form....On streetfire.net there is gt500's running 9's with fairly basic mods......gt500 is a bettre 500hp then the zo6 in my opinion ,its also alot cheaper...

i wouldnt consider nitrous, slicks, 2.5 pulley, LT headers, 3" exhaust, JLT CAI, and a custom tune "fairly simple mods." 9.96 @ 141mph. 664 rwhp, 778rwtq.

the same evolution performance GT500 ran an 11.81 @ 120.9mph with gears (4:10's),slicks and skinnies, suspension, tune, exhaust, & intake with 563 RWHP/562 RWTQ


Z06: drag radials, bone stock otherwise. 10.85 @ 129.50 w/ 505 flywheel hp.

which is the most expensive lol....id take a cobra, the price is right.......i can admit that teh zo6 is faster in stock form ,but i do not think that it takes much to make the gt500 a very comparible car!!

the only ppl who argue corvettes and gt500's are the ppl who cant afford them. like most of us. its not an argument, both cars are insanely fast and in stock form are only a tiny bit of their potential. anybody could make a gt500 faster than a vette for under 70k, just like i could make my stang faster than the gt500, for less than 20k.
