They work really well for perfecting your launches and shift points, as well as for finding which mods work and what doesn't. The Hp figures will not be the same as on a dyno, as the G-tech will not be able to compensate for wind resistence, as not all cars have the same aerodynamics [in other words, the Hp figures will not be accurate, but they will be consistent] Also the Hp figures would be RWHP.
I take mine to the track all the time as I can then download my runs onto my computer when I get home, and if you set the roll out the same as what you stage at, then it is very accurate.

Well, I like to be able to download my runs onto the computer so I can see where I screwed up on my runs , but if your not planning on doing that, I wouldn't bother spending the extra cash.

that sounds like a good idea to be able to monitor and fix mistakes. so i will probably end up getting the upgraded model.. or maybe i will just get the regular model to start off with, then upgrade later. i think i read somewhere that u can upgrade to the RR model via internet.

You can't upgrade the SS model. Here is a link to what they say about it:

Hmmm.... it just says that the older Comp. model is the only one that can be upgraded.
It would be nice if you knew someone that had one so you could try it out to see how you like it, before you go ahead and buy it, but I really like mine, it's a slick little gadget.
