OK, I'll be swapping H-pipes soon, and I wonder what everyone else does for this little tube that comes from the SMOG pump. I'm not removing it, as I'll have to smog it again in 2 years, and I'd have to plug the hole in the H-pipe. The deal is that once it's been crimped with that funky clamp FORD used, it won't slip on a different pipe. I can't find a pipe expander small enough, if they even exist. Do you split it with a hack saw and FORCE it on? I can't get a hammer in there, so....
Has anynoe even bothered?
Thanks,
Dennis

Cut the pipe and then use a good piece of heater hose to connect the two. My bbk h-pipe actually came with a piece of heater hose and two clamps with the instructions to cut the pipe and use that to connect the two. I ran it for years before I just took the smog off the call all together.

I also have some sort of HD heater-type hose on mine.

Good luck.

Ive left mine unconected for about 30k now no problems. I just plugged the off-road pipe. I just smogged it recently the second time and didn't attach the smog tube up to the stock h pipe all the way cuz the crimp problem like you pointed out and it passed with flying colors. Makes ya think. Maybe the smog tube being attatched actually hurts smog test.

The extra air being injected via the pump helps the catalyzation - it does not hinder it.

Cats dont last nearly as long without the extra oxygen either.

Yeah, kinda hard for the cats to produce water and co2 from solely CO and HC.....
