why do we spend 100 buks or so on H/X pipes when we can use regular exhuast piping from muffler shops for a couple of buks.. what do H/X pipes provide that the muffler shops piping dont have. isnt metal just metal, or should i say stainless steel..

The reason that we spend the extra $$ is because we want our pipes to be bent with a mandrel instead of a pipe bender. Using a pipe bender puts kinks in the plumbing that can upset the exhaust flow and cost you HP.

Now, far as metal goes, If you use regular steel, it will rust. If you are OK with a rusty exhuast system, then go for it.
