Have any of you made your own bolt in style subframe connectors?

I know first of all i should get the weld in style subframes but first i want to try the bolt in style. I've seen alot of pictures of the weld in subs and they really look tacky, but i know they serve the purpose. Yesterday i went to the local ford dealership and looked under a new 04 Mach 1 and noticed they hace bolt in subs, also i noticed they have bends in the tubing which actually makes them stronger, it"s not just a straight piece of metal stock. I know that i should use 1.5x2"x.125" metal stock and prime the metal then paint it, and mabey should cap off the ends, but has anyone out there made these at home before and how well did they work? I'm not cheap, but if i can do it i will before paying someone twice what the product and labor is worth.

what you save in making your own bolt in subframe connectors, you'll probably lose when you have to do it all over again. do it once the right way and be done with it. imo

Factory ford subframes are about as effective as duct-taping a broom handle to your chassis. And I'm talkin about a plastic one, not even a good wooden one.
Theres *5* bolts holding them on, and 2 of them are from the seat rails inside. Not to mention they're only 3/4 length.

I got MM full-length weld-ins, huge improvement in feel and no more squeeking. Not to mention I cut a new best 60' on my first pass with em.

But if you still want to try bolt-on, I've got my stock ones freshly painted +hardware up for $30

you can buy full length conn. and have them installed for $ 200.00 or less.
If done at a reputable shop, they are neat and clean.
