having trouble understaning fords ...

i have a cam already picked out for my build, but i am having a hard time trying to figure out ford a,b,e, ect.... cam letters mean. can anyone enlighten me on what those letter mean?

They don't really mean anything. I think it was just the order they were designed in. Ford usually lists them as E, F, B, X and Z. The E cam is a 50 state legal cam. The F is regarded as a blower cam. The B and X have real similar timing events but with different lifts and the Z cam is the biggest and baddest roller Ford makes.
