Heater core replacement without pulling dash..?

Napa, Car Quest, and Auto Zone all have the hoses. Personally I don't like Auto Zone parts of any kind. You can find the heater core at Texas Mustangs, Dallas Mustangs, or CJ Pony out of Pennsylvania.

You un bolt the dash and lean it forward. It gives you about a foot of space to work with.

Living with a bypassed heater core right now, myself - a fancy rig-up involving some household-grade copper tubing and elbows to form a U-bend, and two short bits of standard heater hose. If anyone knows of a shortcut way to change that sucker out involving, say, two hours of work and a Sawzall, I'll be the first to know...

Don't you have to drop the steering column to get the dash to lean back very far?
