Hi everyone,

I purchased my first mustang this past weekend; a used 2007 Convertible V6 with 20k miles on it. I think the color is called Redfire Metallic, but the Ford website currently calls it Dark Candy Apple Red, (different color or same color with a diff. name?).

I wasn't even planning on buying a car for a while, but I took off work this passed Friday and just had an itch to go looking at cars. I made my way down to the local dealer and found this car sitting on the lot. It was one of 16 stangs on the lot, and it hadn't seen any action in the two months that it had been sitting there, so they were really willing to deal. Everyone around here is buying 4cyls these days because of gas prices, so I got this thing for about 3500 under nada/kbb/edmunds retail pricing. It was a deal I couldnt pass up.

I dont plan to go crazy with the mods, but I do have a few in mind....
A shaker hood kit from CDC, dual exhaust (or a single cat back), a programmer/chip, chin and rear spoilers, and a new stereo. Probably in that order too, or close to it

I'll post a few pics this week when I can find time between sleep and work

Candy Apple Red was a new color for 2008. It doesn't have as much flake in it, and a little more yellow in it, less blue. Out of the sun, Redfire gives a magenta cast, while Candy Apple Red gives more of an orange cast.

Oh yeah, welcome aboard! :SNSign:

I would have a hard time choosing between the two colors Redfire or Dark Candy.

Welcome to the world of Mustangs! Sounds like you not only got a good deal on a nice car, but also some nice mods already planned as well

wheels, tires, and lowering springs. Those 3 things should be first on your list.

I drive 100 miles a day on the Jersey turnpike going to and from work, so those things are actually last on my list, if ever. I may eventually get a set of stock 17s from a GT, but that will be the extent of the suspension and wheel mods I will do until I get a job closer to home. And call me crazy, but I like the look of the stock wheels and tires anyway. *shrug*

I may also pass on the shaker for now and put the money into other mods. It's really gonna take a solid $2k to do it right and that money could go along way towards other stuff I want to get done. *shrug* my plans change with the wind, always have lol.

Good luck with your car, the best mod you can do to your car, is save up for a super charger. You and those around you will soon forget that it's only a V-6 hee hee.

Welcome to the site! It's a great time to buy any car that's not built with economy in mind. I see all sorts of performance cars around here new and used with some awesome mark-downs.
