Hey everyone, Just got home lastnight with my "new" 95 GT Vert. I LOVE THE CAR!!

My biggest hurddle is that I take my son to daycar each morning. He is still in a car seat, so with the passenger air bag, he has to be in back, major PITA.. I know new cars have a key switch you dissable them. Is there a way to dissable the one in this 95?? I thought I remembered something about the dealer being able to do that...

What I would realy like is to be able to put a switch in/under the dash where it will not get bumped to turn it on/off depending on the passenger...

ANY THOUGHTS!?!?

Does anyone have a stock T5 shifter laying around?? I want to get the short throw out of my other car, but need something to replace it as I don't have time to install it in the new car this week...

If I recall correctly, there is no airbag disable keys on passenger cars, it might even be illegal. I know that they are available in trucks simply because there is nowhere else to put the child, but in the car you have an option to put them in the back.

I would say any switch you could wire in there would be a bad idea. Anytime I've ever heard of someone modifying airbags, it's right before the story about their accidental deployment.

You can pull all the connectors off it behind your glove box, but then again, If it were me I wouldnt.

Its a pain, but its better than them getting hurt. I put my daughter in the back seat of mine, and its an 88 with no airbags. I just feel safer with her back there then in the front.

I thought that you could actually take a passenger car to the dealership and have the passenger airbag disabled, I'm sure I read that somewhere. not sure if it's viable to put a switch in though.
