As most of you know I just got an 88tc. It needs new tail pipes. the down pipe and cats are good and it still has a y pipe on it but about a foot past the y it stops. The muffalers back is missing. It had dewls on it, but Im not sure I want to put them back on. I see it as a bulky heavy waist of money, I want to go with a single 3inch pipe that goes all the way back but is understaited with out a big crome tip. Will this not look right or am I on to something? Tanks for the input guys, and keep the boost up!
Matt.

I don't think it's a bad idea at all. I don't remember their username, but someone on here has a flat black TC with a single exhaust and it looks fine.

You can hide the tailpipe completely and then it doesn't matter how many you have...just like the 5.0 GT's.

Nothin wrong with a single exhaust, just that getting a 3" pipe over the rear axle can be a bit of a pain. I personally love the look of twin pipes coming out the back, so that's what I did.

ya I made up my mind, single pipe is the way I will go. Id rather spend the cash on something that makes power rather than dewls.

Sorry, this kills me. It's "duals." "Duels" are those horse fights from medieval times. Dewls is nothing.

Ha, it's just one thing that bothers me whenever I see anyone do it.

single 3" to me resembles a ricer, i dont like it. I would go with duals, After all 2-2.5" pipes will flow more then a single 3"

MikeSVOR runs one 3" on 4banger and that car is far from rice. I dont want the restriction that a y adds. That and a 4cyl with dewls seems odd to me. More rice than a true preformance exast(rice=pretending to have something you dont) Now it would be rice if I did like the honda I saw yesterday that had a 3" tip with a fart can muffiler(spelling?) that all hooked up to 1" factory pipe. If it is functional I dont think it to be rice.

Duals just look better and more at home on a Mustang. People never stop asking me why I only have one tailpipe. No one would call rice on you for running a y-pipe, save for maybe some Civic drivers (so who cares).
