does anyone know just how big i can go with Roller Rockers???

its a 95 GT with GT40's and a TFS stage 1 (.499/.510)

*unfortunately I cant do the clay test since i put the car back together but if anyone knows if i should bother getting a set of bigger ones PLEASE let me know !!!

any previous experiences would be great to hear about

THANK YOU :SNSign: !!!

There can be variables such as if material has been taken off the block deck
or head, head gasket thickness, etc

Issues such at those makes it kinda difficult to use others experience as
a reference

I feel using a 1.6 ratio gives you more choices with cam selection

I'd not know if you could use a 1.7 ratio

Do you know if your block or heads have been cut?

Buy a feeler gauge and test for clearance like that. Just put .060 gauge between the roller tip and the valve stem and tighten them. Turn the motor over and if you have that much clearance you should be fine. FWIW, I haven't heard about someone having p/v clearance issues with that cam.

...i dunt think the heads have been cut, just the gasket was cleaned off of it, the gasket im using is an OEM ford replacement and the heads are gt40's

it seems like i cn give it a shot but if i cant be certain that it'll work then i wont touch it for now....maybe down the road if im gonna be doing some internal work again

thanks guys !!!
*im still takin opinions if someone tells me the way im thinkin right now is wrong

hey 95VERT how big's the cam u have???

how big of a cam have you guys went with on a stock bottom end???
with my current setup .499 / .510 with the 1.6's ... switch to the 1.7's and im looking at ....do some math
.510/1.6 = .318 .318X1.7 = .542 .499/1.6 = .311 .311X1.7 = .531

has anyone went withsomething along the lines of .531/.542 lift on the stock bottom end???? seems big but i heard of ppl doing some crazy stuff like that
