Hi all,
I have a 1968 coupe that I've been trying to find rims for... and it hasn't been going all that well. Trying to stay away from the typical TT/TT2/Bullitt/Cragar style.
However, I do know that IMO 5 spoke rims look better than anything else on a classic 'stang.
So what I am now trying to do is find a set of "deep dish" Mach 1 rims. I have seen these for sale in a few places, but I have a few questions that I was hoping a few of you could help me out with.
- With the "deep dish" style, are both the front and back rims "deep dish"?
In the pictures I've seen of these rims, it seems that the front rim doesn't look any different than an OEM Mach 1 rim whereas the back rims are OBVIOUSLY deep dish.
If only the back rims are deep dish it will make my search easier because I can buy OEM fronts.
- What sizes are the "deep dish" rims available in?
I could get by with a 17x8 in the front (but not 17x9) and a 17x9 in the back at the most
- What are my options if the "deep dish" style only comes in 17x9 at the smallest?
Can you narrow these rims? Is it safe to do so? I'm not too knowledgeable on the rims side of things and one-piece versus two-piece.
Also, roughly how much would it be per rim to narrow it? $100?
I'm going to be painting my '68 coupe a satin black and blacking out all of the trim in a high gloss black... so if/when I get these rims I will be getting them painted in a high gloss black for some contrast and I think they will look amazing.
Thanks in advance everyone!
