help!

Hey guys kinda new to the site, but anyway i bought an slpl oud mouth exhaust and put it on my otherwise stock 04 mustang and i thoughtit sounded greatat first. My buddy had an bassani x pipe and 2 chamber flows but wanted to go with an h pipe so i got his x pipe and put it on my car, here is where the problems lies. this thing is freaking loud and i don't mean good loud i mean obnoxious loud. I really wanted to put flows on the car but now i'm stuck with the slp crap and all i really want to do now is buy a set of flowmaster mufflers and put them in place of the slp "mufflers" aka stainless steel cherrybombs :fuss: but the way the tail pipes are coming out of the slp's at an angle i don't think i can just put flowmasters in. if anyone out there has had a similar problem can you please let me in on how you rectified the situation thanks.

I'd suggest switching out the mid-pipe first. Maybe an h or a pro-chamber. I haven't had to much experience with the slp, but they're straight through mufflers, like my magnapacks, and an x-pipe usually makes them too raspy. Maybe someone else might have a better opinion, but I think that might be the problem.

I can sympathize. I was gonna get the slp lm, but decided on the two chamber magnaflow catback instead because I didn't want it to be obnoxious. It's definitely more aggressive than stock and a few ponies, too. But it really doesn't sound that much different from stock unless I'm over 3K rpms. My wife didn't even notice a difference (because I can't go over 2K with her in the car).

Take off those SLPs!! You dont deserve to have them! How dare you call them cherry bombs!

Really though, take off the whole system and sell them in for your flowmasters, SLP is big right now, and i'm sure you wont have a problem selling them 2nd hand for close to what you paid for them. Blowmasters suck compared to SLP though man :nonono:

I love my SLP! Hoo Yah! :flag:

:rlaugh: sorry to hear that man. I can't keep it under 2k! :D

Is your loud mouth one of the modular kits where the muffler are clamped in???

if this is the case I would just get some muffers. slp makes some the same lenght as the loudmouth now. the loud mouths are not mufflers they are resonators.

you could alway just measure the resonators and get center in center out borla, maganaflow, stainless flows what ever will fit as well.
