Holy crap, I have a mongoose kit on the way.....!

The stock bottom end will hold up just fine with both pullies. The proper fuel and a good tune will make your stock componenets live. Don't detonate and bounce the rev limiter and you will be fine. My stock Cobra is great with 8lbs of boost. It has been stomping people for 4 years now. Over 10,000 touble free supercharged miles. MY car had about 44 when I supercharged it. Doesn't burn oil...and it is reliable. I have taken it on 30-100 mile trips many of times.
 
So If I have Tim do a mail order tune on it, have the plugs gapped @ .035, run premium gas (91), and pay attention to the A/F I should be perfectly safe?

Another thing that scares me is the airfilter sitting so low to the ground. For now this car is my daily driver, so if there is heavy rain, I might be screwed. I am looking for a cheap zx3 focus, but in the mean time I am thinking about getting snow tires and putting the stock springs back on for winter... Gas mileage doesnt really concearn me anymore :)
 
Exactly, that will work out fine.

But when you start pushing things, drop that A/F down even more. Mine for example is @ 10.3-1 LOL. The lower the A/F, the more resistant to detonation (from timing or heat) the engine becomes. Its just a safety thing when you start pushing the limits...and remember almost EVERY blown 4.6 that has let go is due to detonation. Keep the timing low and the A/F kicking and you should be totally fine....or as they say "its all in the tune"
 
HMMM... I wonder if I should look at running a 180* t-stat as well and do the "cooling mod".

Cooling mod wouldn't be a bad idea, but 180 t-stat is pointless IMO... With the tuner you can adjust the point when the fans come on electronically..which is better than when the thermostat opens mechanically.

I can search for a pic of mine line...but for now... really it's pretty simple. I used a mechanical gauge and just used a silicone T fitting off of the line that feeds to the FRPS. If you use an electronic sender/boost gauge T a fitting off of a vacuum line coming directly off of the plenum (the dual split one towards the TB, or the IAC, or the EGR if so deleted) or the lower intake manifold (the evap line if also deleted). There is a gauge company that makes AWESOME gauges with programmable warning lights/sounds, cool illumination, etc. that a friend showed me the other day (they won SEMA last year)...I'll see if I can find it!
