Yeah...could not daily a fox no matter the powertrain.

I have a 2014 F-150 that has 57K because I have almost always had a daily commuter. Your saving in fuel would almost swing a 20-25K car or I did for me.
After my Cobalt Sport was totaled last fall by a careless driver. Driving the truck till spring while I looked for a replacement allowed me to shop around till I found the right car. Finally in April I picked up a 2018 Buick Regal Sportback which is a hatch btw. With a commuter car and the truck, it makes it nice to have the spare incase I need to work on my wife's car or truck. The nice thing with the truck being paid off I can turn the insurance on and off as needed.

When I was in Oregon I had a beater Merkur XR4ti I used for running around... It and my 01 Chev truck were on the same policy.... I was going to downsize and remove the Merkur from my policy and my insurance was MORE money for a truck only policy, without getting the " two " car discount...

Putting a Coyote in your fox would be awesome, and you could likely get a decent amount of your cost back by selling your current engine and turbo setup. But you'd have to think about things like the K member, hydroboost conversion, controls pack (unless it comes with pallet), and fuel system, not to mention exhaust. I was wanting to do that with mine but finding the 97 Cobra made the choice easy...

It just does not have the comfort and quietness of a newer car. No Bluetooth, lane assistance, back up camera ect. Also the safety, we all have seen pictures of these cars in bad accident broken up, to many distracted drivers on the road now days. Also for me sentiment replacement, to have a chance of my car getting wrecked. I would be devastated and also to build another or transfer parts to a newer body is not something I am prepared to do at the moment. Insurance is not covering enough to make it justifiable to walk away with a fat check.

So my Coupe is a full MM car and all I can say is the suspension is awesome. Now with that I will also say that for a 100% street driven car I would spend the money elsewhere. When I had the H&R Super Sport springs, Tokico Illumina adjustable shocks and struts, MM caster camber plates, MM rear LCA's, stock UCA's, and stock V8 sway bars with the SN95 five lug conversion and Cobra brakes the car was a F'ing beast on the streets and road really well. I put a ton of miles on it that way and never had an issue.

I also had a MM bumpsteer kit on it similiar to the one that failed on yours (tapered kit) and that kit is on a buddy's car and still doing fine.

So my suggestion to you is that if you are just going to driver the car on the street and not hit any road courses skip the high end suspension stuff.

It wouldn't be long long term. I agree with all of what you said, especially the safety part. I drive to dallas/fort worth A LOT and its something I worry about. I'd really just need it until I could afford to replace the 250 in a year or so.

I had that Infiniti Q50 a few years ago and LOVED that car, but I had to sell my '94 F150 and the Q50 to get the 250, which I really have no regrets over. The beater car isnt off the table, but as far as the fox goes, the coyote would check a few boxes. I'm just over the turbo 302 and REALLY want a front sway bar back. It handles like my 250 without it and isnt fast enough to make up for the lack of handling. It has bluetooth and sound deadening, at least, hahaha

All great info here guys, I really appreciate it. I'm considering the yote swap, regardless of how often I drive it. I'm at a point in my life where turning wrenches isnt a luxury I have time for so reliability has become key.

I just ordered some MOOG tie rod ends off rock auto. I also ordered a fuel pressure reg and a fuel filter just to see if that cures the erratic AFRs. Ill update once I get everything on.

I drove it into town this weekend to grab lunch and it was spunky. Still wanna put the 12# spring in and see if itll hold together.

ALSO... My neighbor picked up a reef blue 93 hatch. R-block 331, 7875 turbo, full MM suspension, TKO 600. etc. etc.

....for $15k.

Maybe, it doesn't ring a bell as I haven't been out around the club in the last couple of years... hell, last time I drove my car was late 2020 and I likely won't drive it till 2024 at the earliest. Tell him to join here and post up pics and details!

I know what you mean. I picked up my New Edge for a driver but miss driving my Fox. Just been too damn busy to mess with it to finish it up. I’ve really considered getting rid of the New Edge if I get a good enough offer and dump that $$ into the coupe. I’m afraid to put too nice of a paint job on it because I’ll be scared to drive it alot lol

This weekend, I added a set of stock replacement tie rod ends and while I was under the car, stuffed the 12# spring back in the wastegate. It had been a while since I had driven the car and I forgot that it still needs a fresh set of plugs. The cars was still breaking up in boost, so maybe tonight Ill swap the plugs and drive it into the office tomorrow and see if its any better. If not Ill look at an MSD box or a better coil.

Still undecided on what to do with the car at this point. I always threaten to sell it and always chicken out. Still want a set of BC forged wheels something fierce. That's been on the wish list for years and has never changed so maybe it needs to happen finally.

I'm just waiting for you to sell it, so I can wait to see how long you last before you start back at square one with a fairly stock one that you say you will leave stock and then count the days till you put a turbo on it.

You have to pull the boot, not the wire, duh.

I sold my Challenger and have sunk a hefty amount into a 363 build. Not going crazy with it, as I don't want it to snowball out of control, but come this Spring you'll see some of my itches being scratched. Staying N/A to avoid jack stands, after learning from all you guys on here.

Got the new plugs and wires in. Although they were sorely needed, it didnt fix the issue. The car is still pig rich up top, so undoubtedly that's not helping things. I forgot to take my laptop for datalogs otherwise I would have fixed it but I ran out of time.

I have a few other things to fix that Ive been putting off - alignment for starters. Cars probably going to sit for couple of months until things slow down. Work is crazy, the side hustle keeps me busy, deer season is starting, blah blah blah.

Still planning on ordering wheels too.

Talking about Daily drivers........
I watched a YouTube video of a guy named Chris Sullivan who buys and fixes up cars recently... He aquired an 05 Cadillac CTS-V that he fixed up... I had NO idea a car like that existed.... That would be what I would look for if I was in the market for a driver or everyday car...
The gen 1's ( which I believe ended in 07) were non supercharged V8's with a manual trans... Middle age Hot rod.....

I did something similar buying a couple different SRT Dodge models for dailies. The trouble with that (for me) is we still have the same bug and spend money modifying/upgrading the daily hot rod instead of playing with the classic hot rod.
