Got the transmission out. A few of y'all may remember me complaining constantly about poor shifting. Grinding on fast upshifts, wont downshift worth a damn either. However, I dont really see anything particularly BAD in these photos.

One thing i never did was index the bell housing, so maybe it was a misalignment issue?

If the new was an issue with the indexing that can cause issues. How is the preload on the input shaft? Is the clutch completely disengaging at high rpm?

This might have something to do with it.

That is a pretty good catch on that dude's part.

It appears he's been inside a tranny or two.

Great people to deal with and they are very reasonable on prices.

I looked at them today as well. Seems they are only on eBay, didnt have the 1-2 slider but parts were within a dollar or two of Hanlon. Regardless, I need to raise a lot of funds first.

Call them. The prices they gave me were less than they advertised.

A small custom touch I'm working on. I bought a blank intake plate off of LMR and have a buddy doing some kind of laser thing that removes the material so it will match my motorsport valve covers. It will be two tone powder coated just like everything else. Should be pretty cool!

Now that I have remembered how to use this forum and am posting in the correct thread, here is the result of my new intake plaque project.

It will go on top of the 351W lower and explorer upper once it gets coated.

As far as the engine bay goes, I think I have decided to paint it, at the very least. My last car had the smooth engine bay panels that LMR sells and they just really make it look nice.

But inflation has caused the price to skyrocket from the $99.99 that I originally paid to $169.99 which is ludicrous.

Anyway. Whatever I have going on now isnt going to cut it. If we're going to do it, I'm going to do it right. Starting with a battery relocation!

I went ahead and ordered these last night. This whole thing has snowballed but to anyone who has followed me over the last 15 years, it should be surprising to no one. However, the engine bay should look really nice once completed. Still makes me sick that these are $180 now.

Follow you? No.

It just seems like that.

I'm just picking up the Skittles that keep falling through the hole in your pocket.

On some days there are no Skittles.

I've started chiseling away at assembling the 351. Made it to step 2 before having to order pushrods that are .05" longer. Should have some appreciable updates (read: photos) next week.

I haven't updated lately. Found some motivation to do the one job worse than replacing a heater core. This started around Thanksgiving and I just finished spraying the primer a few minutes ago. Next is several rounds of body filler. That's gonna take a minute, but MAN what a difference!
