I'm trying to figure out what type of horsepower I can be excpecting with a 331 Bullet short block from DSS, Edelbrock performer RPM heads, a Cobra intake manifold, 24lbs injectors, 65mm throtlle body and a 73mm mass air meter. I really want to get close to 400HP, is that possible with this set up?

Mike

stock compression? Basically heads cam intake but with more cubes?
I doubt it. Close to 400bhp but certainly not 400rwhp

i had a 5.0l with heads/cam/intake 10.8:1 compression and i only put down 280rwhp ~ 322bhp then again i was never properly tuned.

You dont have the injector to sport such a number. Don't guess, with the amount of dynos now availible, just fork out the cash to see and make sure you get an air fuel reading as well.

As Cory said, you do not have the injector to support 400 horses. Also, the cobra intake and 65mm throttle body will limit your combo as well. With the right amount of fuel and less restrictive intake components, those heads and bigger cubes will really be able to shine. Under those conditions, you would certainly hit 400 horses. :nice:

with a perfectly matched set up for 400 that 65 mm tb will be at its max un less its FI but then NA FI and nos 400who combos you will not have enough fuel to make 400whp safely.as my sig says 244whp thats alot for 19s probly close to 100% DC not good for me

I'll tell you what you're gonna get with a dss bullet shortblock
wiped out main bearings in 500 miles
loose pistons
broken wristpins

that's what I got out of my prolite bullet
